The cutting-edge regenerative medicine “PRP-FD injections”

What is PRP-FD?

Freeze-Dried Platelet-rich plasma (PRP-FD) is a form of regenerative medicine, produced from a person’s own blood, with platelets being the main constituent.

It provides high concentrations of growth factors, which can speed up recovery.

PRP-FD has been predominantly been used to treat musculoskeletal conditions.

Adverse effects are very limited because PRP-FD is derived from your own blood.

You may be a good candidate if you;

  • are suffering from joint pain, osteoarthritis, or chronic tendon pain despite the use of anti-inflammatories, hyaluronic acid/steroid injection and physical therapy.

  • want to avoid surgery.

What conditions could be treated with PRP-FD?

  • Osteoarthritis (knee, elbow, shoulder)

  • Tendonitis/tendinopathy (Achilles tendinitis, Tennis elbow, Golfer’s elbow, Jumper’s knee)

  • Ligamentous injury (ACL injury, MCL injury, etc.)

  • Meniscal Injury

  • Plantar fasciitis, etc.

When will I feel the improvements?

The effect may vary depending on your conditions.  It probably takes several weeks to several months to feel improvements.

Treatment flow

  1. Consultation
Consultation(s) with our doctor will explain whether you are a good candidate for PRP-FD injection.

  2. Blood draw
We will draw a sample of your blood.  50ml of blood will be removed.

  3. 3 weeks of processing
We will send your blood sample to lab to process PRP-FD.

  4. PRP-FD injection
Our doctor injects PRP-FD in the clinic.  It takes 5-10 minutes for the procedure.

Important points after PRP-FD injections

  • You may experience swelling, redness, pain or itchiness on the site of injection.

  • Don’t take a bath on the day of injection.  Taking a quick shower is ok.

  • We suggest exercise and activity because of a synergistic effect on our treatment.
