Position Details
Position: Reception & Patient Support Assistant
Employment Period: Late November 2026 – End of March 2027(TBD)
Location: Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan
Hours: Approximately 35–40 hours per week
Schedule: Up to 8 hours per day / 2 days off per week
Main Responsibilities
Reception & Administration
- Welcome and assist patients in English
- Register patients and support clinic administrative procedures
- Answer phone calls, emails, and appointment inquiries
- Assist with insurance paperwork and patient documentation
- Process payments and issue receipts
- Coordinate with local clinics, pharmacies, and hospitals as required
- Support patients with general questions, directions, and transport arrangements
Patient Support & Winter Operations
- Assist with transport coordination during busy clinic periods
- Help patients safely enter and exit vehicles where necessary
- When required, drive patients and staff using company vehicles
- Support general clinic cleaning operations
- Assist with basic snow clearing around clinic entrances and accommodation
- Provide occasional staff transport between accommodation and clinic
Essential Requirements
- Fluent English communication skills
- Reception or administration experience
- Confident interpersonal and customer service skills
- Reliable, adaptable, and able to remain calm under pressure
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed
- Available for the full winter season (December–March)
- Eligible for a Japanese Working Holiday Visa (if applicable)
- Current driver’s licence with ability to legally drive in Japan (International Drivers Permit)
Highly Regarded (but not essential)
- Hospitality or tourism experience
- Medical, nursing, physiotherapy, or caregiving background
- Experience working with international guests or patients
- Experience driving vans or larger vehicles
- First Aid qualifications
- Additional language skills
- Experience driving in winter/snow conditions
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage: ¥1,200 – ¥1,500 depending on experience
- Subsidised staff accommodation available

About Niseko International Clinic (NIC)
Niseko International Clinic is located in the heart of Niseko, one of Japan’s leading international ski destinations. Operating year-round, NIC provides comprehensive medical care for both local residents and visitors, with a strong focus on emergency medicine, sports injuries, and general outpatient care.
Our multilingual team of doctors, nurses, and support staff are experienced in caring for patients from around the world in a fast-paced international environment. During the winter season, we regularly treat acute snowsport injuries, respiratory illnesses, infections, and other common travel-related medical concerns.
NIC is equipped with on-site X-ray, laboratory testing, and minor procedure capabilities, and works closely with local hospitals and specialists when advanced care is required.

About Niseko Wellness Center (NWC)
Located directly opposite Niseko International Clinic, Niseko Wellness Center works closely with the NIC team to provide integrated physiotherapy and rehabilitation services.
NWC supports both local residents and international visitors, with a particular focus on injury recovery, musculoskeletal treatment, and performance support for active individuals and snowsport participants.
Our certified therapists provide personalised treatment programs designed to restore movement, reduce pain, and support long-term recovery and injury prevention.
